In 2023, she was selected as the Grand Honoree of AT&T’s Black Future Maker initiative under it’s Dream in Black program. The AT&T Dream in Black program recognizes influencers who “are brave and committed individuals we support and celebrate because they power their possibilities for themselves and more importantly, their communities.” The program has an amazing vision to publicize and provide support for leaders to empower others.

Along with this recognition, she previously launched and managed an educational empowerment initiative at her former high school in Dekalb County, GA.

In 2017, she was nominated and selected as a 'Hidden Treasure' for Women of Excellence in Science, a prestigious recognition awarded by a foundation in Atlanta. Furthermore, she was also featured as a 'Smart in Beautiful' leader in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Technology, Arts, and Mathematics) careers by REIMAGE Beauty.

She assisted efforts for former First Lady Obama’s Let’s Move Outside initiative during her internship at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. As a scientist with the federal government, she also organized ‘Kids in the Woods’ field trips. In this effort, she worked with teachers to develop curriculum materials and take students (e.g. middle school) on trips to National Forests and other outdoor sites in Georgia. Dr. Jennings has served as a consultant to national organizations on efforts related to the environmental field, leadership development and engagement in underrepresented communities.
